SUFFIXES
A suffix is word which is added to the and of a primary word to form a new meaning. Here are the principal English suffixes that you have to practice as in the following:
A. Of nouns ( from other part of speak to nouns)
1. Denoting doer or agent and instrument
• Er : painter, lawyer, baker, etc
• Or : actor, legislator, reflector, predator , etc
2. Denoting state, action, condition
• Dom : freedom, wisdom, etc
• Hood : manhood, childhood, brotherhood, etc
• Ness : goodness, darkness, sweetness, etc
• Ship : membership, hardship, friendship, etc
B. Of adjectives
• Ed : gifted, interested, learned, etc
• En : wooden, woolen, earthen, etc
• Ful : fruitful, watchful, joyful, etc
• Ish : girlish, brutish , childish, etc
• Less : fearless, hopeless, meaningless., etc
• Some : handsome, quarrelsome, etc
• Ly : manly, kindly, lovely, etc
